Pancreas Day is an annual event from the pharmaceutical industry, with research into medication for pancreatic cancer at the center. In this closed event for doctors, the latest findings from research into pancreatic cancer were shared in the form of a series of presentations.
Five hours of livestreaming from an impressive castle
To increase accessibility of Pancreas Day during the lockdowns, a livestream was set up. The location was a beautiful castle in Barneveld, which did come with a challenge: there was no stable internet connection. Valo created a reliable internet connection by using multiple SIM cards with data bundles.
The broadcast consisted of a series of 20 presentations and an award ceremony for the most forward-looking research. This program amounted to an uninterrupted five-hour livestream. Valo streamed with three cameras simultaneously and also managed the PowerPoint presentations. The run-of-show and the speakers’ speaking time were closely monitored so that the program would not overrun.

In preparation, Valo transformed the castle into a studio, allowing the castle’s grandeur to come fully into its own. For example, the lighting technician placed lighting outside behind the windows, making the space look even more impressive on screen.
