Talking Physio

The two founders of the Talking Physio Podcast both worked in physiotherapy and had the mission of giving this conservative professional field a new information platform. Until 2020, Talking Physio was the leading platform for physiotherapy in the Netherlands, where, among other things, e-learning and livestreams were offered.

Because Talking Physio was looking for a new way to reach physiotherapists, Valo recommended that they stream a talk show via Facebook. This was first broadcast in 2017. We also began recording a series of podcasts in which Talking Physio itself invited the speakers and prepared the content of the session. The podcasts were recorded in a physiotherapy practice, with the microphones on the treatment table.

Preparation

Valo helped Talking Physio build the on-site technical setup, and also dismantled everything again so that the hosts could chat with the guests afterwards. We also advised on podcast distribution and coached speakers while they were recording the podcast. When you record, you hear your own voice through the headset – if you are recording a podcast for the first time, that naturally takes some getting used to.

Result

The Talking Physio podcast was a great example of the complementary effect of multimedia. The podcast supported the brand and the accredited online events that Talking Physio organised on a regular basis. The podcast was an accessible way to stay up to date with the latest developments.
