Overloon War Museum focuses on the history of the Second World War in the Netherlands. Valo helped them organize professional Zoom sessions and coached them remotely.

Background

Managing a Zoom session with a lot of participants can be quite a challenge. Especially if you want to crawl into a British Churchill tank with a wireless camera. That is when a helping hand comes in handy.

The museum organized information evenings for parties that support charitable causes. These parties attended various online sessions to decide which organization they wanted to donate money to. The museum wanted to offer an accessible way to share its mission and vision with this group of benefactors.

Preparation

In this first collaboration with the museum, Valo helped the museum host the Zoom sessions itself. Valo designed the presentations and drew up the run sheet in consultation with the museum. We also advised the museum on buying camera equipment and renting lighting. The museum is full of tanks, which makes the rooms quite dark. We also ran internet cables so we could guarantee a stable connection.

Together with the museum, we drew up the run sheet and also included a backup plan, so they could be sure of a great live broadcast.

Valo provided

  • Advice on buying and renting camera equipment

  • Running internet cables and placing the cameras between the tanks

  • Full remote support during the live broadcast

  • Directing the studio build

  • A complete run sheet, including a backup plan

Results

The result was a successful information evening where the museum could run the broadcast itself. They repeated this information evening several times. Valo supported them remotely, taking the technical worries off the museum’s hands.

With this live information evening among the tanks, the museum took a first cautious step into the online world.

Price indication

The museum was able to handle a lot of things itself and bought its own camera equipment as an investment for the future. Valo acted as an advisory partner and provided remote support. For a similar project, expect a price of €1,250 to €2,500 per production.

Very professional and pleasant guidance!
