Twice the reach through a hybrid approach
The City of Rotterdam asked Valo to livestream its hybrid event about social leadership for municipal employees. The goal was to share knowledge and inspire the organization.
The city works in a hybrid way, with employees partly at home and partly in the office. A hybrid event made the program accessible to staff members who live outside the Rotterdam region.
Microsoft Teams Live Events
For this closed hybrid event, Valo and the city chose Microsoft Teams Live Events. The communication department handled promotion and mailings, while Valo used a hybrid set to livestream the program.
A moderator connected the room and online audience by taking a microphone through the room during Q&A sessions and answering questions submitted through the chat.
Stable streaming without fixed internet
On the day itself, the room’s internet connection did not work despite prior checks. Valo used its connection guarantee and streamed the full 2.5-hour event over 4G using a multi-SIM solution.
The event reached 100 in-person participants and around 120 online viewers, effectively doubling the audience.
