Popunie

Background

Popunie is a Rotterdam foundation focused on talent development for Dutch artists, and on helping them become successful. They support musicians with practical questions, but also help connect them with event organisers. Every year they present the Rotterdam Music Awards, with winners chosen through online voting.

Popunie wanted to reach a larger audience and create more news value. At the Rotterdam Music Awards, there was a lot of press present that wrote live about which artists had won awards. By offering a livestream, a large audience could watch remotely, and they could create content that could easily be reused.

Chosen platform: embedded livestream via Vimeo

For this awards show, Valo handled the cameras and the livestream, and advised on camera use and platforms for livestreaming. The show took place in a theatre, where Valo worked closely with the audio technicians and the party responsible for screen direction of the projector.

The solution chosen was an embedded livestream via Vimeo, which allowed Popunie to easily embed the livestream in their website. This meant visitors did not have to look for the livestream on another platform and the Popunie branding could be maintained.

Result

The result of the production was not only a livestream that could be watched directly on the Popunie website, it was also a source of valuable content.

The footage was used to create separate videos of the award presentations, and screenshots could be made of every moment of the event.

Price indication

A similar multi-camera video production costs between €4,000 and €5,000.
