Online Quiz for HHSK

Client

The Hoogheemraadschap Schieland en de Krimpenerwaard (HHSK) is responsible for the water, dikes, locks and pumping stations in the region. There are 21 water boards in the Netherlands in total, and HHSK is one of them.

An online quiz with lots of interaction

During the COVID-19 measures it was hard to stay in personal contact with colleagues, because meeting in person was not possible. To give colleagues a boost anyway, HHSK organized an online quiz with the theme ‘Water’. In one hour, using 25 unique quiz questions, a winner was announced who walked away with the grand prize!

Preparation

To make the quiz extra interactive and exciting, Valo filmed a series of quiz questions at several locations in the region in the weeks beforehand. This required maximum effort from our camera crews, and above all a tight schedule.

Valo proposed and booked a venue, and briefed the caterer for the people working on site. Valo also provided input for the quiz questions. For example, do you know where the lowest point in the Netherlands is?

Valo also took care of the lighting, sound and set dressing (art direction). The entire experience was styled in HHSK’s corporate identity. The host received camera training from us beforehand, so the quiz presentation would run smoothly.

Results

In the quiz, the pre-recorded videos alternated with the live broadcast in which the host presented 25 quiz questions. We used interactive software to let the audience answer the quiz questions.

The broadcast was held at Theater Walhalla in Rotterdam, overlooking the Rotterdam skyline and the water.
