The Royal Dutch Organization of Midwives (KNOV), like any other trade association, is required to hold an annual general assembly. Valo helped KNOV broadcast several hybrid general assemblies, with part of the members in the room and the rest able to follow the general assembly easily from home.
Transparent and accessible for the national membership base
As a professional association with thousands of members, it is important to stay in touch with the membership. KNOV wanted to take a transparent and authentic position, and make sure that all members could participate in the general assembly. By choosing an online general assembly, they made the general assembly accessible to every member. At their location in Amersfoort, 200 members could take a seat in the room, while the rest could follow the event online.
Valo not only organized the livestreams of the general assembly, but also set up a preparatory online meeting in which questions could already be handled in advance. This meant the question rounds during the general assembly itself could be used more efficiently, preventing the general assembly from running over.

Preparation
One of the challenges was arranging access to the event properly. General assemblies are closed, so we had to give the right people access without streaming the event publicly. Valo proposed Vimeo as the streaming platform, with members receiving a personal invitation so the link would not be shared publicly. The Vimeo livestream was also secured with a password.
For one of the general assemblies, we also recorded videos in advance of an interview with the director and made them available online.
